Obituary of Ida Massimino

Ida Marsillio Massimino, age 95 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Charles Massimino, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. Born on October 25, 1922 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Antoinetta Riccio Marsillio. As a young girl, she worked at a local shirt making factory where she met the love of her life, Charles. Throughout her years, she worked at Nydens, A&P Supermarket in the Meat Department, and in the gift shop at Captains Cove in Bridgeport. She grew up one of six, with four sisters and one brother; first on Arlington Street then moved to Wheeler Avenue. Her hobbies included gardening, bowling, knitting and crocheting, playing and listening to accordion music, and most of all loved taking trips to the casino. But her greatest role in life was that of loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her two loving children, Charles Massimino and Annette Massimino Erzen both of Bridgeport; her two cherished grandchildren, Jessica Erzen Iannucci and her husband Joseph and Stephen P. Erzen II; sister-in-law Bertha Marsillio of Shelton, and her canine companion Bennie; nephew and niece, Jack Cennamo and his wife Michelle and Annette DeMoura and her husband Tony, great nieces and nephews, Nikki Taylor, Jeffrey Cennamo and Antonio DeMoura. In addition to her husband Charles, she was predeceased by her brother Bernie Marsillio and sisters Dorothy Nagy, Frances Cennamo, Anna Grausa, and Mary Passaro.
