Obituary of Nancy Marie Intagliatto

Trumbull Resident Intagliatto - Nancy Marie Intagliatto, age 83, died peacefully on Monday, April 12, 2010 with her family by her side. Born December 20, 1926 in Jamestown, NJ; she was the daughter of Agatha and Salvatore Scaduto. In her earlier years, she loved to cook Italian food for her family, bake cookies and her wonderful cheesecake. Family get togethers were a feast and all occasions no matter how big or small were celebrated in the Nancy way. She lived in Lake Forest most of her life, involved in many activities with her family and friends. She worked as a young lady at Grandma's Cookie Jar, which all who knew her heard these stories. Her life revolved around her family, her 3 daughters, brothers and sisters, and her one and only husband Pat. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and trips to Las Vegas and Cape Cod. In her later years, she shared her life with her 3 daughters, 8 grandchildren and was looking forward to the birth of her great granddaughter. After the loss of the love of her life Pat in 2003, she moved in with her daughter Donna and her husband Larry and their 3 children Jen, Chris and Cody in Trumbull to live her 8 remaining years out to the fullest. She loved being surrounded by all her grandchildren and family. Eating and food was her passion, and she was always smiling. Nancy was a major part of all activities whether it be kids games, vacations or boating. Her grandchildren were always in her thoughts, and she loved sharing in their lives. The birth of her first grandson John Sgarlata in Virginia was a very special time of her life and continued throughout her remaining years. Whether it was her visiting John the first week he was born or attending his Graduation from Kings Point, Merchant Marine Academy. The birth of her first granddaughter Jen was a special occasion. She loved cheering her on at all her dance recitals, seeing her get ready for proms, spending Sunday afternoons watching the NY Jets football games together, and seeing her blossom with the new life growing inside, her first great granddaughter Ava. Nancy's 2nd grandson Chris was next to become part of her life, she watched him play baseball games, endless video games, trick her into eating dog biscuits, and would sigh when his loud Mustang left the driveway. She enjoyed the special pizzas he made for her. These were moments she treasured. With Melissa, Grandma shared many momentous recitals, graduations, hot dogs from Lenny's hot dog stand and treasuring the path she's moving on to become a teacher and follow in her mom Kathy's footsteps. Another beautiful granddaughter to love, Sarah was born to Nancy and John. She observed the same quiet reserved nature in Sarah that she saw in her own daughter Nancy growing up and enjoyed watching her blossom into a beautiful young woman. Matthew was next to arrive in all his glory. Sharing Lenny's hot dog stand memories and watching him follow in his grandfather's footsteps with football and pursuing a career in the construction business really made her proud. Cody and Grandma became immediate best friends upon his arrival to Donna and Larry. Whether it was watching him play sports, just throwing a ball or hot potato around, doing puzzles together or just chilling on the boat were times cherished by both. Cody has lost his close companion in Grandma but has many beautiful memories that will live on and on with him. Kathy brought Nicholas into this world, far away in South Africa, and she was thrilled when she moved to New Jersey to be able to watch him grow, share in his First Holy Communion and holidays with her whole family. Although they didn't actually meet face to face, we feel certain she crossed paths with her first great grandchild Ava, as she left this world on the same day as her great granddaughter entered it. What a tribute to her great grandmother to share this special day! Her smile will be missed by all who knew her, but wonderful memories we've all shared and her love will live on in our hearts forever. As we always said "Hearts" Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and friend, we all love you and will continue to celebrate your life. Nancy has 7 brothers and sisters, many brother and sister in-laws, 3 daughters, 3 son-in-law's, 8 grand children, 1 great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and friends. She shared nearly 60 years with her husband Pat before he left this earth. They are now together watching down on us, their beautiful family that they started. She was also predeceased by an infant daughter named Gail. Nancy is survived by her brother Frank Scaduto, 2 sisters Adeline Guzzi and Josie Machalowski, her daughters and their husbands, Donna and Larry Silks, Nancy and John Sgarlata, Kathy Haines and her fiance James Horton, 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Chris and Cody silks, John and Sarah Sgarlata, Melissa, Matthew and Nicholas Haines, one great granddaughter born to Jen Silks and her fiance Kenny Voight, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
