Obituary of Anna P. Vezina

Anna Pavio Vezina, age 95, of Fairfield and formerly of Bridgeport, residing at the Fireside Senior Housing Complex for over twenty five years, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 at The Carolton Chronic and Convalescent Home in Fairfield. She has spent the last two years at the Carolton where she has built numerous, lasting relationships. She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence Vezina.

Born in Waterbury on May 31, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Angelina (Zerrillo) Pavio. Anna had been employed by CASCO Manufacturing of Bridgeport, where she worked as an inspector and packer before retiring with 24 years of dedicated service. She was proud to then have worked for 18 years with the City of Bridgeport, CT Senior Aide Program before retiring at age 82.

She was a member of the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee and the Bridgeport Federation of Democratic Women. In June of 2007, she received the Secretary of State Public Service Award. She organized bus trips and found great enjoyment by knitting and crocheting for family and friends. She was a member of the United Congregational Church in Bridgeport. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Judy Pavio Anderson and her husband Bob of Plainville, Judy Marella and her husband Michael of Shelton, Raymond Pavio and his wife Karin of Lexington, MA and Anthony Pavio and his wife Jeanne of Paradise Valley, AZ.  She is also survived by several step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony and Romeo Pavio.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Tortora Family and entire staff of the South Wing at the Carolton for their care and compassion that had been extended to Anna.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. directly in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
