Obituary of Florence Imre

Resident of Bridgeport Florence Broad Imre, age 83, of Bridgeport, a retired registered nurse, died on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on April 11, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Margaret Gilmour Broad. She was a 1948 graduate of the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY and had worked for Park City Convalescent Hospital. After retiring from nursing she worked for Lindquist Supply Company. As a lover of music and the arts, she enjoyed the opera, the ballet and trips to Tanglewood. She was a devoted member of Golden Hill Methodist Church and her faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Zoltan J. Imre. Survivors include three sons, John P. Imre of Waterbury, Frank L. Imre and his wife Diane of Attleboro, MA, Paul Z. Imre of Bridgeport, two daughters, Carol Kalakay and her husband Bob of Baltimore, MD and Margaret Fogg of Milford, a brother, Robert Broad of Errol, NH, twelve grandchildren, Jill Dadidas, Robin Revte, Grace Roath, Christina Kalakay, Nathan, Tammy, Frank, Tom Z, Kara and Tom P. Imre and Douglas and Melissa Fogg, eight great-grandchildren and several nephews. Florence's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses of Tower 7 Bridgeport Hospital. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 1:00 p.m. in Golden Hill Methodist Church, 210 Elm Street, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
