Genevieve Imerito

Obituary of Genevieve Imerito

Genevieve (McKenna) Imerito, age 84 of Trumbull, beloved wife of George H. Imerito, entered into Gods grace Monday, December 31, 2007 with her loving family by her side. Genevieve was born on April 10, 1923 in Rumford, Maine to the late Omer and Cecelia McKenna.

She came to Bridgeport in 1941, married George, the love of her life, in 1948, and moved to Trumbull to start her family and has been a Trumbull resident for 52 years. Throughout her working career, she worked for several area companies, ultimately retiring from Phillips Medical Systems in Shelton, CT in 1987. Genevieve was an avid reader, loved her bird collection, loved to decorate, and was a fabulous cook. More than anything, she loved her family and was deeply devoted to them. In her retirement years, her five grandchildren lit her life and it brought her great pleasure to dote upon them. They, in turn, have many happy memories of their time spent with her. She was a peacemaker by nature and touched many lives. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her beloved husband George of 59 years, she is survived by her two dedicated daughters, Donna Pellitteri and Gina Corriea and her husband Ray, all of Shelton. She not only leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Dana and Tommy Pellitteri and Alexa, Raymond, and Jake Corriea, but also one brother Richard McKenna and his wife Theresa of Jay, Maine, and one sister Teresa Langlais of West Virginia as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Peter (Buddy) McKenna and her sister, Doris Noble.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 8 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
