Obituary of Robert C. Francis

Robert Charles Francis, 89, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Rita Turcotte Harrity Francis, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, September 3, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born in Erie, PA to the late Charles Slayman Francis and Edna Mae Jackson, Bob served in the United States Navy between 1945–1957 as an Aviation Machinist Mate. After his military service, Bob worked for AVCO Lycoming for over 30 years before retiring as a Supervisor of Experiment and Development Testing. In addition to his parents, Bob was also predeceased by his first wife Dorothy May Haines.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, two sons, Gary Francis and his wife MaryAnn of New Milford, Scott Francis and his wife Karen of Milford and two daughters. He is also survived by two step-sons, Frederick Harrity of Trumbull, Edward Harrity and his wife Frances of Monroe, NC and one step-daughter, Linda Farrell and her husband James C., of Stratford. He is also survived by two sisters, Marion Pierson of Stratford and Peggy Hoess and her husband Paul of Louisville, KY, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to go directly to Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Avenue, Trumbull on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Reverend Terrance P. Walsh, Pastor. Private interment with military honors will follow. The family will receive visitors on Friday, September 8, 2017 between 4:00 and 8:00 pm. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 1 Park Street, Norwalk, CT 06851.
