Obituary of Verleda E. Husar

Verleda Sanford Husar, age 95, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Husar, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at her daughter, Verleda's home with her family by her side. Born in Troupsburg, NY on May 24, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Dorothy Sanford. She worked for Harvey Hubbell Inc. before her retirement in 1981. A devoted mother and grandmother, Verleda truly enjoyed time spent with her family, especially gathering around the holiday season. She was a member of Golden Hill United Methodist Church, Bridgeport.

In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by her son, Thomas S. Husar, grandson, John E. Husar, her twin sister, Verda L. Rupard and two brothers, Donald and Garold Mosher.

Survivors include a son, Robert D. Husar and his wife Jean, two daughters, Verleda I. Shomsky and her companion Bob Kuraska and Shirley M. Bayusik and her husband Bob, daughter-in-law, Sheila Husar, all of Huntington, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, a very special niece and great niece, Sharron Carrico and Elizabeth Viar, both of Virgina as well as several additional nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 10:30 am in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:30 a.m. in Nichols United Methodist Church, 210 Shelton Rd. Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
