Obituary of Robert Joseph Crainich

Robert Joseph Crainich, age 81, of Trumbull passed away on June 25, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Ray Crainich. Born in Paris, France on February 28, 1936, he was a son of the late Joseph and Stefania Fon Crainich. Robert came with his family to the United States at the age of 15. He worked tirelessly to help support his family and help raise his younger brother and sister while attending night school. Later on he was employed by Precision Resource with many years of dedicated service. His greatest devotion was to his family and his faith, spending time in his ministry as a member of the Trumbull Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to this, he enjoyed the time he spent in his yard and garden, playing the accordion, dancing with his wife, cooking for family and friends, and playing cards. He loved people, telling stories, and sharing experiences. He was a man of few words, but expressed himself through his actions.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 52 years, Elizabeth, other survivors include his five children, James Crainich and his wife Tammie of Shelton, Matt Crainich and his wife Karen of Bethany, Stefania Mingey and her partner John of Brookfield, Michael Crainich and his wife Michelle of Manhattan, NY, and Jason Crainich of Norwalk, his five cherished grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Jackson, Aidan and Kaylie, his brother, Larry Crainich and his wife Diane of New Hampshire and sister, Brigida Ovchar of Bethany.

Friends may greet the family on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until noon at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours at 12:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
