Obituary of Richard H. Hunt

June 10, 2007 On June 10, 2007, Richard Howland Hunt, beloved father, teacher, mentor and friend entered into eternal rest at his home in Trumbull. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, mother, Marylou, grandson, Stephen Matthew and stepmother Dorothy. He is survived by daughters, Valerie J. Blevins of Carrollton, TX, Veronica L. Passaro and her husband, Steven of Danbury, CT, Bernadette M. Kaufman and her husband, Roger of Hartland, WI, Pamela S. Zellner and her husband Travis of Coventry, RI. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Walsh of Fairfield, eight grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew and his beloved canine companion, Daffy. A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Richard served his country in the U. S. Coast Guard with a tour of duty in Alaska. Upon discharge he attended Danbury State Teachers College and holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. He taught at Samuel Staples Elementary School in Easton, CT for 32 years where he served on numerous professional and educational boards and committees. A published author, avid reader and music- lover, Richard will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
