Obituary of Grace M. Mello

Grace Mary Martino Mello, age 91, of Clayton, NC, beloved wife of the late Gilbert Mello, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Johnston Health Care in Clayton, NC. Born in Bridgeport on June 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Josephine Blake Martino and was a longtime area resident before moving to North Carolina. Before her retirement she was a bookkeeper for many years at Remington Shave Federal Credit Union. Survivors include two loving daughters, Linda Mello of Cary, NC and Christine Mello of Redondo Beach, CA, a granddaughter, Melissa Haslob Burmeister and her husband Paul of Clayton, NC and three great grandchildren, Cody, Rylee and Cooper as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Gilbert, she was predeceased by a son, Gary Mello and a brother, Vincent "Buddy" Martino. Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
