Obituary of Dorothy Mae Tucci
Dorothy Mae Tucci, age 88, of Shelton and Florida, also formerly of California, died peacefully on February 11, 2017, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late William Davis Tucci for 65 years. Born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Ference Kovalik. She spent her youth in Stratford and graduated from Stratford High in 1946.
Dorothy was a stay at home mom until her youngest child was in grammar school. When she decided to get back into the workforce she chose to take employment in cafeterias of various schools in the Shelton School system. She stated, "It's the perfect job for a mom with five kids, you're home when they're home."
Dorothy had many hobbies. She dabbled in free hand oil painting, was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, cooking, making video movies and doing various D.I.Y. projects around the house. She would spend hours creating unique cards for her family and friends. Her laugh was infectious and she was the life of every party.
