Obituary of Joan Julian

Joan deStefano Julian, age 77, of Huntington, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on January 25, 1939, she was a daughter of the late John and Vera Salerno deStefano. A graduate of the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall in Milford, she found great enjoyment traveling, listening to music and watching old classic movies. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and sister, who prided herself on the care and wellbeing of her family, always putting their needs before her own. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her three loving daughters, Jayna Lively and her husband Jim of Trumbull, Leslie Julian and her boyfriend David Card of Huntington and Marcie Julian Branca and her husband Jeff of Shelton, her brother, John deStefano Jr. and his wife Florence of Florida, six cherished grandchildren, Mark, Ryan, Taylor, Gabriella, Angelina and Jeffrey "JJ". She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Mary Lou Mentana and June Petite. The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center as well as the Day Hospital and 11th Floor at Smilow Cancer Center. Friends may greet the family on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
