Obituary of Marian F. Ainsworth
Marian F. (Prieboth) Ainsworth, age 84, of Norwalk, beloved wife of the late William J. Ainsworth, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born on March 8, 1932 in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Kurt and Margaret Hancock Prieboth. Marian worked for over 25 years in the emergency department at Norwalk Hospital;as a nurse technician before retiring as a medical secretary. Marian was also deeply involved in the Norwalk Community, where she was a member of the Norwalk Garden Club, the Norwalk AARP Chapter 3929, the Norwalk Woman's Club, the Norwalk and Weston Senior Centers, as well as chairwoman of both the St. Jerome Prayer Shawl Group and the St. Jerome Funeral Reception Committee. She volunteered her time at both the Trumbull Vo-Ag School assisting in many events and at Bridgeport Hospital cancer survivor events. She was a very creative woman, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Marian is survived by her four beloved children, William J. Ainsworth, Jr. and his wife Donna of Shelton, Kurt L. Ainsworth and his wife Kian of FL, Elizabeth A. Griffin and her husband Randy of Shelton and Jennifer L. Petti and her husband Arthur of Prospect; eight cherished grandchildren, Christopher Ainsworth and his wife Island, Kate Ainsworth, Jason Ainsworth and his wife Marie, Ashley Ainsworth, Lauren and Kristin Petti, Tara Griffin, and Ryan Griffin and his wife Erika; and three adored great grandchildren, Liam Ainsworth, Noah Gjoni, and Audrey Griffin.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, CT on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
