Obituary of Mary A. Healey
Mary A. Meule Healey, age 80, beloved wife of Gerard Healey of Trumbull, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 22, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Carmela Russo Meule and a longtime New York City resident. She and her husband Jerry retired to Bradenton, FL in 1992 and lived there for 22 years. They moved to Trumbull in 2014 and had been living at Spring Meadows for the past two years.
Before her retirement, Mary was an optical technician and stylist in New York for over 15 years. An active parishioner in both Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in S. Ozone Park, NY and Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Bradenton, FL, Mary volunteered at the OLPH school library and at many church functions and events while attending both churches. She was an avid reader, enjoyed arts and crafts and made many creative things for her friends and family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her beloved husband Jerry of 56 years, survivors include two loving children, Patricia Raftery and her husband William of Fairfield and James Healey and his wife Diane of Madison, a sister, Joanie Viola of TN, two brothers, Michael Meule and his wife Connie and Anthony Meule and his wife Janet all of NY, four cherished grandsons, Sean and Liam Raftery and Daniel and Michael Healey, a sister-in-law, Lillian MacDonald of NY and brothers-in-law, Frank Palladino of CA and Jack Healey of FL as well as 38 nieces and nephews. She also has many longtime friends in NY, FL and CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
