Obituary of Charles Roger Haynes
Resident of Stratford
Charles Roger Haynes, age 87, of Stratford, son of the late Charles J. and Elizabeth Grosse Haynes and husband of Mary Walser Haynes, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. He was born in Bridgeport on March 3, 1925. Mr. Haynes was a graduate of Stratford High School and attended the University of Bridgeport. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre and was stationed in the Philippines. On return from service, he attended Chrysler Dealer Management School in Detroit. He became Sales Manager of Haynes Motors Chrysler Plymouth Agency, progressing to Vice President and then to President and owner of Haynes and McGill Chrysler Plymouth Agency. He and his wife moved to Oronoque Village in 1990 and he became very active on many committees there. In his retirement, Charles enjoyed artwork and oil painting and became a skilled artist in his own right, painting landscapes of the Northeast Coast. In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Charles C. Haynes of Milford and Mark A. Haynes of Bridgeport, a sister, Shirley McGill and her husband Charles of VA, a nephew, Charles McGill and his wife Patricia of NY and a niece, Dr. Elizabeth McGill of UT. He was pre-deceased by a son, Michael J. Haynes. Funeral Information
Friends can greet the family on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A prayer service will take place on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations Information
