Obituary of Gerard J. Scheer

Gerard Scheer Sr., age 70, of Trumbull, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Born in Bridgeport, on January 2, 1946, he was a son of the late Charles Scheer and Irene Manley Takacs. Gerard worked as a heavy equipment operator for Sound Construction for many years. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. Survivors include his wife Janice Wiedwald Scheer, two children, a son, Gerard Scheer Jr. and his wife Meredith of Trumbull and a daughter, Stefanie Oliveira and her husband Carlos of Middletown, RI, a cherished granddaughter, Olivia Scheer, three brothers, Patrick Scheer and his wife Antoinette of Southbury, Gary Takacs and his wife Victoria of Stratford and John Takacs of Sarasota, Florida as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4-8 pm.
