Obituary of Roger C. Hatfield Sr.

Roger C. Hatfield Sr., age 77, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Beverly Paterno Hatfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Swansea, MA on March 23, 1938, he was a son of the late Clarence and Lauretta Picard Hatfield. A U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Hatfield was a diesel mechanic for over 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the Pequonnock Yacht Club and also enjoyed fishing. He was also a very skilled craftsman, evident in the numerous cabinets and models he was so proud to have built. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include a son, Roger Hatfield Jr. and his wife Pat, Eva Luciano and her husband Mike and Robert Mueller and his fiancé Michelle Nicholson, a granddaughter, Jazmyn Thomas, two sisters, Marceline Vitale and her husband Patrick Jr. and Janet Ledger and her husband Robert, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
