Obituary of George A. Pitino
George A. Pitino, age 74, of Orlando, FL passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at his home. Born in Bridgeport on May 12, 1941, he was a son of the late George and Natalie Cavallaro Pitino and was a longtime resident of Fairfield prior to moving to Florida. Mr. Pitino received his Bachelor's Degree from Fairfield University and had worked for many years at Nick's Sunoco and Fairfield Cab. When he moved to Florida, he was employed at Chick-Fil-A for over 13 years and it was one of the most enjoyable times of his career.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and best friend, William (Bill) J. Pitino and his great aunt, Angela Cavallaro. Survivors include his nieces, Mary Pitino Dvorak and her husband (Jeff) and Bonnie Pitino Potenza and her husband (Mike), both of San Jose, CA, his sister-in-law Elizabeth Pitino of Myrtle Beach, SC, his former sister-in-law Ellen Hamlin of Milford, as well as several loving cousins, great nieces and great nephews. In addition, George had many wonderful friends in Orlando, Florida from his employer, Chick-Fil-A, and his church, Mary, Queen of the Universe, where he attended weekly services.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Michael's Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave., Stratford at 1pm on Thursday, December 3rd, for a graveside committal service. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
