Dear Doris, children, and grandchildren, We were so sorry to hear of Dzedo's passing. He was a warm and wonderful "big bear" of a man who was loved dearly by his family and friends. From a Former Business Partner Of John's. John and I worked together for over 50 years as first employee then partner. He always treated me as equal and fairly. I have only fond remembrances of him. I last saw him at his shop 2 years ago and was amazed that he was still working. The best to his survivers. To his kids: you'd do well to emulate your father ,a good man William Martovich

When I heard the news I could not believe it George Crist was going to run a luncheon at the Mill and we were going to talk over old times with John as our guest. We all loved John and will miss him but at least God will receive a man whose laughter will bring joy to all in heaven This is a sorry day in our lives as well as yours God bless Charlie and Red Saulnier

My condolences to the Butka family. I was quite saddened to hear of John's passing. I loved John. And I say that with ease. John gave me my very first job at Allen Products. I was sixteen, it was 1972, and he hired me as a Draftsman Apprentice. It was a temporary job, but I was so proud to be called a "Draftsman". I forgot the name, but I never forgot the man. Years later, by chance, I walked into Butkin Precision seeking employment. I was hired by George Butka. It took a couple of months for me to realize, the owner is the guy that gave me that Drafting job. I worked for Butkin for 15 years. That's how I got to know John. Some years pass, and I then find myself with two kids in college, and needing some extra work. And of course, John was there for me. I ended up working at night, another seven years for John. John was a special man. He will be sorely missed.

My heart breaks at the loss of Mr. Butka. My heart felt sympathies to his wife and family. Mr. Butka and I shared a love of horses and when he came in to Milford Fabricating he would always tell me stories of his younger days in the West. I will very much miss him.
