Obituary of Thomas M. Burns
Thomas M. Burns, age 53, of Windsor, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 5, 2015 with his loving family by his side. Tom was a son of Jean Mayernik Burns of Shelton and the late Daniel Edward Burns. He was a loyal career employee with the State of CT Department of Developmental Services. Tom was a big personality with a special sense of humor. He had a strong sense of style, a flair for design and was a very generous person. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his siblings, Kerry Arthur (Larry) of Sandy Hook, Daniel Burns (Ross Campbell) of Chicago, Christine Patti (Joseph) of Cold Spring Harbor, NY, Susan Mason (Glen) of Virginia, Scott Burns (Lisa) of Newtown, Pamela Conrad (Peter) of Shelton and Leslie Irwin (Dean) of Guilford as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and longtime friend Bill Quinn. Tom was predeceased by a sister, Lisa. The family wishes to express their gratitude to his devoted friend and caregiver, Nancy Parker, and a special thanks to Dina and the Masonicare Hospice Team.
Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
