Obituary of Peter Halfpenny

Resident of Shelton Peter Halfpenny, age 69, of Shelton, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Carol Nikodem Halfpenny. Peter was born in Norwalk on June 7, 1943 to the late Arthur and Margaret Kearney Halfpenny. He received his Bachelors Degree from St. Michaels College in Vermont and his Masters Degree from Southern Connecticut State University. He was a special educations teacher for the Bridgeport Board of Education for 33 years. He taught at Roosevelt and Edison Schools. Peter enriched the lives of his students by providing many experiences beyond the classroom. Peters interests included ice skating, skiing at his home in Vermont and later enjoyed the sun and relaxing lifestyle in Florida. Peter had a giving personality who was always ready to help anyone in need. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol, his beloved daughter, Erin and her partner Julie Greco of Ithaca, NY, his twin grandchildren, Ella and A. J., his brother, Arthur Halfpenny and his wife Jennifer of MA, several nieces and his faithful dog, Duffy. Peter would want you to keep little A. J. in your prayers in the coming weeks. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Peters brother-in-law, Rev. Martin Nikodem. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
