Obituary of Chester V. Orlowski
Chester V. “Chet” Orlowski, age 85, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis Sireno Orlowski. Born in Bridgeport on December 6, 1929, he was a son of the late Cajetan and Stella Slawinska Orlowski. Chet graduated from St. Francis of Assisi High School in New York State and later served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Orlowski was employed by Peerless Package Store in Trumbull, where he worked as a manager for many years before his retirement. He was also a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan and the highlight of his life was attending a game recently at Fenway Park.
Survivors include his sister, Eleanor Kline of Bridgeport, his nieces, Marion and Virginia Radomski of Monroe, Barbara Pilat and her husband Leo of Lanesboro, MA, nephew, Rev. Walter Orlowski of Norwalk, nephew, Theodore Bob, niece, Andrea Smith and her husband Doug of So. Plainfield, NJ, great nieces and nephews, Melissa, Benjamin and Margaret Pilat of Lanesboro, MA, a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vivien Balog and her husband Bill of Stratford and great niece and nephew, Shannon and Sam Smith of So. Plainfield, NJ. In addition to his beloved wife, Phyllis, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Walter, Benjamin, Edward and Henry Orlowski, his sisters, Helen Radomski and Mary Bob, a niece, Dorothy Senci and her husband Edward and a nephew, Mark Kline.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468 or to a charity of one’s choice.
