Obituary of Genevieve E. Kubik

Genevieve Sojka Kubik, age 95, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Kubik, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford with her family by her side. Born in Derby on April 29, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Skowronski Sojka. Genevieve enjoyed bowling, line dancing and bingo and was a longtime member of the Bridgeport Seniors Eisenhower Center. Survivors include her three loving children, Patricia Cooper and her husband Wesley of Bethany, Joseph S. Kubik and his wife Joan of Trumbull and Sharon Chormanski and her husband Paul of Trumbull, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Ignatius, Chester, Michael, John and Joseph Sojka, a sister, Stella Devlin and a grandson, Jay Cooper. Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby.
