Obituary of Frederick A. Seltenreich

Frederick A. Seltenreich Jr., age 84, beloved husband of the late Nancy Fetcho Seltenreich, passed away peacefully on Friday January 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgeport on January 18, 1931 he was a son of the late Frederick A. Sr. and Helen Banas Seltenreich. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served his country during the Korean War and was a member of the Sea Bees. Fred was a retired steam fitter for the Teamsters Union Local 777. 'Freddy" as he was known to many, was loved and well known by his neighbors and friends. Everyone loved his tag sales and "Mr. Fix It" was always there to lend a helping hand. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his son, Keith A. Seltenreich and a brother, Robert Seltenreich. Survivors include his loving daughter, Kathy Ann Matyas and her husband Stephen A. of Bedford Texas, a cherished granddaughter, Lillian R. Seltenreich of St. Augustine, FL, two brothers, William Seltenreich of Stratford and Richard Seltenreich and his wife Elaine of Huntington, a sister, Marjorie H. Bucci of Trumbull, his companion, Judith Crosby of Derby, as well as several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. *DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER PLEASE NOTE THE MASS DAY HAS CHANGED* Funeral services will take place on WEDNESDAY, January 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
