Obituary of Corinne C. Maggi

Corinne Nelson Maggi, age 81, of Shelton passed away suddenly and peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2015 in her home. She was the beloved wife of the late John D. Maggi. Corinne is survived by five devoted children, Gary J. Maggi of Shelton, Karen Bunkoci and her husband Jack of Shelton, Lori Maggi of Stratford, John M. Maggi and his wife Nerina of Shelton and Brian J. Maggi and his wife Rita of Shelton. She also leaves behind, five cherished Maggi grandchildren, John, Eric, Ian, Daria and Gabriella and several family members and friends. She is also predeceased by a brother, William F. Nelson. Born in Bridgeport on September 4, 1933, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Edith Santoro Nelson. Before becoming a full time homemaker, Corinne was employed by AVCO Lycoming, General Electric, and Producto Machines after her graduation from Central High School in Bridgeport. A devoted Mother and Grandmother, her greatest pleasure in life was enjoying time spent with her family. She cherished her children, grandchildren and her beloved pet poodle "Buio", her constant companion whom she considered her sixth child. Corinne's lifelong passion was literature. She spent a lifetime of enjoyment reading and collecting books. In later years Corinne, true to her kind nature, would donate her collection to charity so others could enjoy them. She was loved by all who met her and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Patrick Church, 851 North Ave., Bridgeport on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. There are no calling hours.
