Obituary of Sophie Mazzey

Sophie Klisenbauer Mazzey, age 93, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joseph B. Mazzey Sr., died on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Stratford on September 2, 1920, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Stacisa Klisenbauer. Sophie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph B. Mazzey Jr. and three sisters, Irene Gianotti, Helen Cox and Dolores Kichinko. Survivors include two loving sons, Ronald Mazzey and his wife Karla and James Mazzey all of Stratford, four grandchildren, James Mazzey Jr. and his wife Diane, Susan Mazzey, Christopher Mazzey and his wife Ruth and Sherry Mazzey, two great grandchildren, Ava and Colin, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1-5 pm.
