Obituary of Jerry G. Bernardo, Jr.

Jerry G. Bernardo Jr., age 60, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Trumbull, beloved husband of Rose Lebenkorn Bernardo, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Banner Baywood Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on April 20, 1954, he was a son of Jerry G. Bernardo Sr. of Fairfield and the late Elvira (Vera) Ruggiero Bernardo and a longtime resident of Trumbull before moving to Arizona in 2005. He opened his business, the Lucky Strike Pro Shop last July. Jerry loved to play poker and bowl and will always be remembered as "The Greatest". In addition to his wife Rose of 18 years, and his father, survivors include two stepchildren, Stacey Brown of Colchester and Lisa Holodnak of AZ, a brother, Michael Bernardo and his wife Janice of Monroe, a sister, Sandy Trotta of Trumbull and five step grandchildren, Ibrahim, Lyla and Myra Brown and Anthony and Nicholas Holodnak as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends can greet the family on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd., Trumbull.
