Obituary of Florence King

Florence Traub King, age 85, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Warren F. King, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on June 20, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Susan Tomasko Traub. Mrs. King was a secretary in the Security Department at the University of Bridgeport for many years before retiring. She was a dedicated wife and mother and enjoyed being a volunteer at Hewitt Memorial Hospital in Shelton. Survivors include a daughter, Diane King Misencik of Shelton, a brother, Carl Traub and his wife Marge of Trumbull, a sister, Susan Cahill of Shelton and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, Warren F. King Jr., two sisters, Crescentia Hanson and Eleanor Traub and son-in-law, Robert Misencik. Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
