Obituary of Elizabeth Gualtieri

Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Elizabeth Diodoardo Gualtieri age 91, of Monroe, loving wife of Guido Gualtieri, died peacefully on Monday October 11, 2010 at St. Vincent Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born on June 19, 1919 in Mt. Hope, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Dominick and Theresa Rocarrio Diodoardo. Mrs Gualtieri was formerly employed by Compress Paper Box, Bridgeport and retired from Warner Lambert/ Schick Corp. She was also the former owner and operator of J & S Grocery Store of Bridgeport. Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed but her memory and values will continue to live on through her family. In addition to her devoted husband of 73 years, Guido, survivors include two loving daughters, Mary Mennilli and her husband Daniel and Rose Ann Plude and her husband Ronald all of Monroe, two sisters Helen Diodoardo of West Virginia and Lena Uliano of Bridgeport, a sister-in-law, Elsie Dorado of West Virginia, seven cherished grandchildren, Lynda Linley and her husband Robert III, James Plude and his wife Donna, Lisa Mennilli Brackett and her husband Andrew, Jean Marie Bakes and her husband George, Ronald Plude Jr., and his wife Michele, Lori-Ayn Mennilli and Lynora Lichvar and her husband Daniel, 14 great grandchildren, Lauryn and Robert IV Linley. Matthew and Heather Plude, Brittany and Kayla Brackett, Christopher, Alexander and Georgia Bakes, Gillian and Duncan Plude, Daniel (DJ) Mennilli and Alexandra and Alyssa Lichvar, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Sam Dorado and five sisters, Anna Lancia, Josephine Janczewski, Rose Uliano, Elvira McLain and Nellie DeVivo.The family would like to thank the staff of The Shelton DiVita/Dialysis Center in Shelton Ct., and St. Vincent Medical Center ICU for their professionalism and dedicated care. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday October 15, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. The family requests no flowers.
