Obituary of Donna M. Bonavita

Donna M. (Ciarcia) Bonavita, age 62, beloved wife of Louis M. Bonavita of Fairfield, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport, on May 10, 1951, she was a daughter of the late James and Marie Ciarcia. Before her retirement, she was employed at Sacred Heart University for over 13 years. Donna was a loving and caring person to everyone who knew her and had a heart of gold. She enjoyed the holidays and spending time with her family whom she loved so much especially her grandchildren who were the love of her life. In addition to her husband of 34 years, Louis, survivors include a daughter, Melissa Pignataro of Fairfield, a stepdaughter, Leah Canale and her husband Peter of Yonkers, NY, two grandchildren, Mia Liana and Rocco Louis Pignataro, four step grandchildren, Patrick, Angelina, Andrew and Marissa Canale, a brother, Joseph Ciarcia and his wife Lucy of Jacksonville, FL, two sisters, Viginia Phaneuf and her husband Rene of Bridgeport and Michele Ciarcia of Seymour as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her cherished son, Rocco James Bonavita. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Meadow Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
