Mr. Sparano was my guidance counselor at Central High School. I can remember his one on one discussion with me regarding my lack of inspiration toward my grades and school Senior year (1976), he called it "SENIORITIS". We talked about life after high school and he handed me a few catalogs for colleges, one of which was for my alma mater Central Connecticut. Mr. Sparano was a good man and one that had a positive influence on my life. My condolences.

Dear Fran and sons,
John and I worked together for many years at Central High School. He always had an encouraging word or joke to share. Additionally, he insisted on attending my retirement party at Testo's in 2008. I'll never forget his kind remarks and the T-shirt that he gave me to mark my retirement.

My condolences to the family. John was my gym teacher at Central and also a Guidance Counselor mentor. I always enjoyed when he would stop in at school for a visit and chat about old times. I will miss him.

You will be sorely missed John. Not many people can say they have been friends for 65 years but we (all of us who grew up together) can. What I'll miss most is you're smile and laugh each and every time you came into my store, I'll treasure those and our childhood memories forever.

To the family of John Sparano,and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
We met when I was a junior at Central and he was a freshmen gym teacher .That first year he gave me the cry baby of the week award almost every week for argueing any calls he made against me during gym, softball and basketball games and in my senior year he told me I was the MVP of cry babies for the previous two years and we continued our friendship for all his life and mine. He was a very generous friend who helped me start my business both financially and with many words of encourangement many would like to say they helped me get my start but John was the one who truly did . He was and continues to be a person I truly cared for and will never forget the rest of my Life!
