Obituary of Robert E. Farkas

Resident of Stratford Robert E. Farkas, age 74, of Stratford, a retired printer for Lancer Graphics with over 25 years of service, died on Monday, March 10, 2008 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on October 17, 1933, he was a son of the late Sigmund (Ziggy) Farkas and Marion Farkas Rinck and a U. S. Army veteran. He was an avid fisherman who was known as The Reel Man and a former member of the Milford Striped Bass Club. Survivors include his wife of 51years, Patricia Tierney Farkas, a son Michael J. Farkas of Trumbull, two daughters, Kimberly Park of Stratford and Kathie Reed and her husband Richard of West Haven, a brother, Roger Farkas and his wife Christine of Port St. Lucie, FL, an aunt, Ruth Sosta of Vero Beach, FL, two grandchildren, Sarah Daniel and Richard Reed II as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Susan Farkas. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the compassion and care of the 8th floor MICU at St. Vincent Medical Center. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Those desiring can make memorial donations to the St. Vincent Medical Center Foundation, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport, CT 06606.
