Obituary of Charles L. Dragonette

Charles Lawrence Dragonette, lovingly known by his family as JR, died peacefully at age 67 after a brief fight against lung cancer on February 9, 2005. The eldest son of the late Carmine and Marie Pellegrino Dragonette, Charles was born in Brooklyn on August 13, 1937 and grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1960, going on to enjoy a successful career in Advertising in New York City. Later in life, Charles worked a second career helping those in need at a rehabilitation center in Westport. He married Judith Pastore with whom he raised their two cherished children at their home in Easton. His leadership with the Aspetuck Land Trust helped to preserve much of Eastons rural character. A fantastic cook, Charles brought the people of his life together with meals and conversation that will be profoundly missed by all who know him.

Charles leaves behind his two beloved children, Cooper and Claudia Dragonette, his brother, Bob Dragonette and his wife, Judith and numerous family and friends whose love for him will continue to endure. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a brother, John Dragonette. 

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in Notre Dame of Easton Church, 640 Morehouse Rd., Easton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
