Obituary of Michael J. Dragone

Resident of Trumbull Michael Joseph Dragone (nee Librandi), age 46, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Marisa Baldino Dragone, died on Monday, February 7, 2011 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on June 7, 1964, he was a son of Thomas and Virginia Venesz Dragone of Trumbull. He was a 1982 graduate of Trumbull High School and in 1986 earned a bachelors degree in art from Keene State College. After college he studied at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy. Michael was a true Trumbullite and loved restoring his antique farmhouse in the village of Nichols. Passersby could often find him driving his golf cart around the property. He was a talented artist, an avid Mets and Jets fan, loved to travel abroad and was a lover of nostalgia. Everyone who knew him was inspired by his strength, courage, and sense of humor. In high school, he enjoyed playing on the golf team and was voted (unsurprisingly so) as class clown. Michael worked for many years as a graphic designer, both at newspapers and as an independent freelancer. Most recently he took great pride teaching his 8-year-old twins how to paint with oils. Sophie, his beloved yellow Lab, was always by his side and unconditionally devoted to him. In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include twin son and daughter, Beau Thomas and Isabella Grace Dragone; a brother, Carman Dragone and his wife Nicole, nephews Max and Spencer and niece Charlotte of Southbury; his mother and father-in-law, Teresa and Thomas Baldino and sister-in-law Laura Mackie of Shelton; his aunts Norma Librandi Giannattasio of Milford and Eileen Librandi Moore of Palm Beach Gardens, FLA, and several cousins. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
