Obituary of Raymond F. Dion

Trumbull Resident Raymond F. Dion, age 76, of Trumbull, passed away Saturday July 23, 2011 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marie Ann Fray Dion. Born in Bridgeport, July 20, 1935, he was the son of the late Raymond M. and Emily LoConte Dion. A U.S. Naval Reservist and design engineer, he was also the co-owner, along with his wife, of the Nameplate and Trophy Shop in Trumbull. Raymond was a former member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church where he was very active and also served as co-president of the Parish Society. He also enjoyed the time he served as a Boy Scout Leader. In addition to his wife, other survivors include his children, Jeffrey Dion and his fiancee Geri Golski of Ansonia, Mary Catherine Barbierri and her husband John of Stratford, Kimberly Humphrey and her husband Paul of Branford, and Michael Dion and his wife Cindy of Seymour, eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Corrie Hughes, Alyson, Adam and Diane Humphrey, Sonia and Curtis Dion and Thomas Barbierri, a great grandson, Grayson Humphrey, a sister, Diana Peterson of Shelton and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, John Peterson and a nephew, Gregg Peterson. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday July 27, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
