Obituary of Maria I. DiCosmo

Maria Ceniccola DiCosmo, age 89, of New Canaan and formerly of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 surrounded by her family. Born in Guardia SanFramondi, Province of Benevento, Italy on January 9, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Mariano and Ambrosina Carlesimo Ceniccola. Mrs. DiCosmo had worked for many years at Read School in Bridgeport as a teachers aide and lunch room aide. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick Church. She had a great love for her family and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband Pasquale DiCosmo, two brothers, Lorenzo and Tebaldo, two sisters, Flora and Fausta, stepchildren, Balbo DiCosmo, Floyd DiCosmo, Robert DiCosmo and Mary DiMeglio. Survivors include her son, Dr. Bruno F. DiCosmo and his wife Mary DePeano DiCosmo of New Canaan, a sister Gorezia of Italy, three grandchildren, Alyssa, Michael and Sarah DiCosmo, a stepson, Ed DiCosmo, a step granddaughter Maria Miller and her husband David and their children. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.
