Obituary of James S. Arlio
James S. Arlio, age 85, of Trumbull, a retired production planner for Avco Lycoming with 35 years of service, died on Monday, April 4, 2005 in Maefair Health Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport on November 29, 1919, he was a son of the late Joseph and Filomena Frasca Arlio and was a Trumbull resident for over 49 years. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, the Rhineland and Central Europe and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with Bronze Service Arrowhead.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Concetta (Connie) Paumi Arlio, son James G. Arlio and daughter-in-law, Rosemarie of Trumbull, daughter, Janis DeSanty and fiance Michael Patrone of Ansonia, son, Jeffrey Arlio and daughter-in-law, Sara of Trumbull, two beloved grandchildren, Christine and Marc Arlio of Trumbull, several nieces and nephews, four great nephews and one great great nephew. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Frank, Dominic, Joseph and Anthony Arlio and sisters, Margaret Vispone and Josephine Christino.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 8, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with full military honors will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
