Obituary of Leona DeStefano

Resident of Trumbull Leona Iacozza DeStefano, age 91, of Trumbull, died on Friday, June 8, 2007 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Freeland, Pennsylvania on June 9, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Margaret Tristian Iacozza. Mrs. DeStefano graduated from Central High School in 1933 and received her RN degree in 1936 from St. Agnes School of Nursing in West Hartford. She formerly worked at St. Vincent Medical Center and the U. S. Army Ordinance Department from 1943 to 1945. She volunteered at the Connecticut Red Cross and was a Gray Lady at St. Josephs Manor. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Anthony W. Stefano, four sisters and two brothers. Survivors include two sons, William A. DeStefano and his wife, Margaret of Radnor, PA, James M. DeStefano of Trumbull, a daughter, Virginia Fay and her husband, Daniel of Tacoma, WA, a sister, Helen Pettit of Huntington, eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
