Obituary of Joseph A. DeSabella

Stratford Resident Joseph A. DeSabella, age 93, of Stratford and previously of Freeland, Pennsylvania, a retired operating engineer for Anthony Julian Railroad Construction Co., died on Friday, November 27, 2009. Born in Ceraso, Italy he was a son of the late Nicholas and Rose Mazza DiSabella. He was a proud member of I.U.O.E Local 478. His true enjoyment was the time he spent with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife Lucy Derlitz DeSabella, two brothers, Matthew and Peter DiSabella and a sister, Grace Tozzolino Survivors include two sons, Nicholas DeSabella and his wife Linda of Stratford and Joseph DeSabella and his wife Sherry of Fairfield, a daughter, Theresa Palmieri and her husband Michael of Stratford, two brothers, Carlo and Anthony DiSabella, both of Hazelton, PA, three sisters, Nicoleen DiSabella of Hazelton, PA, Alesandra Wendel of Elizabeth, NJ and Rose Sparrow of Camp Springs, MD, 10 grandchildren, Tina (Benny) Mauro, Joseph (Stacy) DeSabella, Anthony (Rita) DeSabella, Matthew DeSabella and girlfriend Catherine Violette, Christine (Frank) Sotomayor, Nicholas DeSabella, Catherine (Kenny) Geriak, Jodi Palmieri-Schumann(Kurt), Michael Palmieri and Alan Palmieri and finace Eva Dabrowski, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Paula Jones and the 4th floor staff members at Lord Chamberlain Health Care for the care they provided. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m..
