Obituary of Robert P. DeLucia

Robert P. DeLucia (Bobby) of Stratford, age 70, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 16, 2012 after a courageous battle with ALS Lou Gehrigs Disease. Born and raised in Bridgeport, Bobby graduated from St. Augustine Grammar School and the Bridgeport Public High School System. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves. Within six months of completing basic training, he was called to active duty and served in The 475th Engineering Battalion as the Berlin Crisis was escalating. For the past 10 years he was employed by the City of Bridgeport as the Sealer of Weights & Measures, and he also served on the Executive Board of Bridgeport Employees Federal Credit Union. Prior to coming to the City, he owned and operated T & B Mobil on upper Main Street in the citys North End for many years. Early on he was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford as a Shift Supervisor. Bobby was the son of the late Ralph and Lena DeLucia of Bridgeport and he was pre-deceased by his wife Theresa and nephew John Paul Matyjasik. He is survived by his daughter Christine Allan, her husband Raymond and his two grandsons Matthew and Ryan Allan; his daughter Dawn DeLucia and her significant other Alex Bauco; his brother Anthony and his wife Jackie; his sister Grace Pastorok and her husband George; his kid sister June Matyjasik; his girlfriend Judy Plotkin and his walking partner Bob Metzger, as well as several nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to Helen who cared for our father and brother for the past eight months. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, 391 Ogden Street, Bridgeport, CT. There will be no calling hours. Burial services will be private.
