Obituary of Raymond G. Damer

Resident of Trumbull Raymond G. Damer, of Trumbull, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the age of 88. Ray was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Gustave and Pauline Damer, and graduated from Bullard Havens Technical School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country honorably during World War II. During World War II, Ray fought in the Pacific Campaign being involved in several major battles such as the Battle of Guadalcanal and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. After being honorably discharged, Ray worked as a pattern maker for over 40 years for the former Bullard Company of Bridgeport. He was a longtime member of the Pinewood Lake Association. Ray is pre-deceased by his wife Irene Mitchell Damer, brother, William and sister, Violet. Survivors include his brother, Daniel of Exeter, NH, his beloved daughter Caroline Komm and her husband Frederick of Trumbull, three grandchildren, Wendy Yezersky and her husband David of Stratford, Michael Komm of Stratford and Ryan Komm of Trumbull. Ray is also survived by two great grandchildren, Irene and Nicole Yezersky and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Rd., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
