Obituary of Joseph Peter Antignani
Norwalk Resident
Joseph (Joey) Peter Antignani, age 41, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, April 12, 2007. Joey was the son of Ralph Anthony (Antignani) and the late Nicolina (DeMasi) Antignani. He was born on March 23, 1966 in Bridgeport and attended Bullard Havens Technical School and Central High School. Joey was self-employed and was the owner of Joseph Flooring. From an early age his exceptional athletic ability was evident. He played baseball in the North End Bridgeport Little League and attended Jai Alai School at the former Bridgeport Jai Alai Fronton. He was a member of the first class of students and went on to play professionally in the Bridgeport and Milford frontons using the player name DeMasi. Joey played softball in many of the area leagues and was known for his rocket arm. He was a member of the Norwalk YMCA and was an avid swimmer having been a former lifeguard. He also enjoyed weightlifting and kickboxing, was a finalist in the 2007 WEBE 108 Wild Fitness Challenge and was a lifelong Mets and Steelers fan. He was a member of the twelve-step program and chaired weekly meetings. His caring and generous spirit touched many lives and helped countless in need and despair. He made time for others and was never too busy to listen. Joey had a special way about him. He was a gifted and natural speaker, possessed a quick wit and the ability to deliver jokes in rapid fire. He had a big voice and a bigger personality that filled up the room wherever he was. Many have said that just being around him would lift your spirits. Joey was very spiritual and loved his God and his church. He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church. His loss will be deeply felt and will leave a void in the lives of all who knew him. His legacy is the passion and love that he gave to others.
