Obituary of Anthony J. Angiolillo

Resident of Stratford Anthony Joseph Angiolillo, age 82, of Stratford, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on December 29, 1930 he was a son of the late Vito and Josephine Bochiccio Angiolillo. Mr. Angiolillo was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Heavy Tank Battalion during Korea. Before his retirement he was an engine test technician with Avco Lycoming for 35 years. His most recent position was at Scap Motors, until January of 2012, driving customers to their destination when they dropped of their vehicle for repair. Tony had a wonderful gift and that was he loved being with people whether it was at work or at social occasions. His gift to celebrate his life was done on a daily basis. He was an avid bowler for over 40 years at Nutmeg Lanes in Fairfield and most recently at Duckpin Lanes in Stratford. He belonged to the Greater Bridgeport Athletic Association, and was the founding member of the Heartbeats Support Group at Bridgeport Hospital. Everyone knew he was a die hard tag saler. He often would take orders from people to find specific things and that put him on a mission. He was the best father anyone could ask for and was a generous one. We will miss him but will continue his legacy by celebrating his life and carrying on our lives the way he taught us. Anthony is survived by his wife, Patricia Angiolillo of Trumbull and other survivors include four beloved daughters, Marijo Smith and her late husband William J. Smith III of Southold, LI, Susan Castagna and her husband Vincent of Stratford, PattiAnn Krehel and her former spouse Gregg of Newtown and Tricia Wallick and her husband Gary of Lexington, SC, ten loving grandchildren whom he adored immensely, Lauren, Mychele, Thomas, Dina, William, Noah, Tara, Rachel, Manuel and Marcos, his companion, Evelyn Sparky Boyd of Stratford a sister, Angelina Lee Cusano of Stratford, three brothers-in-law, George Zahorsky and his late wife Ilene, Sal Savastano and his late wife Maryanne and Nicholas Quattone, a sister-in-law, Mary Angiolillo, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Charles and James Angiolillo, sisters, Margaret Quattone, Katherine Kisela, Matilda Orticari, Mary Sorrentino, Louise Angiolillo, Theresa Ann DeFilippo and Ann Marcello. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. James Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
