Obituary of Ralph D. Costanzo

Ralph D. Costanzo, age 76, of Monroe, a retired design engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft with 30 years of service, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on January 10, 1929, he was a son of the late Joseph and Virginia Fortunato Costanzo. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a graduate of BEI, now affiliated with the University of Fairfield, School of Engineering. He was a member of the VFW Post #0177 of Bridgeport. After his retirement, Mr. Costanzo continued to work as a consultant with Sikorsky Aircraft. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel.

He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Grace Lillian Whaley Costanzo.

Survivors include his wife, Arden Weckstein Costanzo, a daughter, Rachelle Ann Lambert and her husband, Larry of Derby, a son, Jay Michael Costanzo and his wife, Michelle of Waterbury, two brothers, Richard J. Costanzo and his wife, Janet of Oxford and Joseph M. Costanzo and his wife, Maureen of Milford, a sister, Beverly Vancho and her husband, James of Stratford, two step-children, Lisa Leff of San Francisco, CA and Jill Lewis and her husband, Michael of Norfolk, VA, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Friends may meet on Friday, July 29, 2005 directly in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours and interment will be private.
