Obituary of John Correia

Department of Justice Retiree John Correia Jr., age 75, of Bridgeport, died peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2007 in Bridgeport Hospital after a long illness. Born in Fall River, MA on March 27 1932, he was a son of Cecelia Pereira Correia of Fall River, MA and the late John Correia Sr. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Department of Justice and Sikorsky Aircraft. Mr. Correia was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #16. He was a hard working and ambitious man who loved to travel. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be sadly missed. Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary Alice Costa Correia who he married 51 years ago in Our Lady of Angels Church in Fall River, MA, a son, Jeffrey Carl Correia and Sheri Lynn Forte of Bridgeport; a brother Robert Correia and his wife Jeannie of Fall River, MA and a grandson Jeffrey Robert Correia. He also leaves two sisters-in-law Donna Bandarra and her husband Manuel of TN, Lillian Brennan of Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow with full Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
