Obituary of Joseph Corica

Dedicated Educator Joseph Corica Sr., age 77 of Trumbull, beloved husband of M. Grace Palacino Corica died peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at St. Vincents Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 3, 1933 he was a son of the late Carmelo and Domenica Lipari Corica. Mr. Corica earned his Masters and 6th year Degrees from Southern Connecticut State University and was a retired teacher for the Town of Monroe, having taught social studies for 23 years at Chalk Hill Middle School. Joseph was a very dedicated educator who was admired and respected by his colleagues, students and his many dear friends. He was a member of the Pequonnock Yacht Club and had a passion and love for collecting model railroad trains. But his true love was the time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Agresta and a brother, Dominic Corica. In addition to his beloved wife Grace, of 53 years, survivors include, three loving children, Joseph Corica Jr., of Derby, Ronald Louis Corica and his wife Diane of Wentzville, MO and Robert Corica and his wife Tammy of Ansonia, nine cherished grandchildren, Jonathan, Joseph, Daniel, Elisabeth, David, Sarah, Isabella, Olivia and Faith; two brothers Augustine Corica of Bridgeport and Carmen Corica of West Palm Beach, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves to cherish his memory his brother in law, Reverend Joseph F. Palacino as well as several additional brothers and sisters in law. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Vincents Medical Center Elizabeth Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care for their professional care during Joes time of need. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 498 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in the Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
