Obituary of John P. Cocca

Resident of Trumbull John P. Cocca, age 79, of Trumbull, died on Tuesday February 27, 2007 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Born in Barnesboro, PA on March 5, 1927, he was a son of the late Frank and Rose Cocca and was a longtime resident of Trumbull. Mr. Cocca was the owner and operator of Johns Hairstyling of Bridgeport and Stratford for over 40 years and also worked at Anthonys Hair Salon of Trumbull for over 17 years. Mr Cocca was an avid golfer. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Gertrude Yitts Cocca, three brothers, Michael, Sam and Anthony Cocca and a sister Grace DiPasquale. Survivors include two sons, John Cocca Jr. and his wife Donna Rae of Trumbull and Robert P. Cocca and Janet Detuzzi; two daughters, Judith Ann Bepko and her husband William of Monroe and Donna Marie Marchitto and her husband Eddie of West Haven; a brother, Vito Cocca of Shelton, a sister Jean Kerekes of Huntington, 11 grandchildren; John Cocca III and his wife Amy of VA, Jill Rae Cocca of New Haven, Megan Bepko of NY, Michelle, McKenzie and Michael Bepko all of Monroe, Robert and Dylan Cocca both of Shelton, E.J., Tommy and Kelly Marchitto all of West Haven and a great grandson, Andrew John Cocca of VA, former daughter-in-law, Beth Cocca of Shelton and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Janusz for the dedicated care he provided. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
