Obituary of Michael Chuba
Michael Chuba, age 94, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Mary E. Simoncelli Chuba, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in his home. Born in Bidwell, Iowa on September 30, 1914, he was a son of the late Thomas and Anna Patrick Chuba. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, Michael was retired from American Chain and Cable Co. of Bridgeport and also was employed by the State of Connecticut as a Toll Collector. He enjoyed golf, was an avid N.Y. Mets fan and was a member of the St. Charles Bowling League. He was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Chuba, Emilia Krolides and Ann Scopp and two brothers, George and Edward Chuba. In addition to his wife of 54 years, survivors include two sons, Michael Alan Chuba and his wife Alicia of Norwalk, Gary Chuba and his wife Diane of Shelton, six grandchildren, Brian, Stephen, Kristin, David, Kevin and Kayla as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information
