Obituary of Phillip A. Cennamo

Phillip A. Cennamo, age 93, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Rose M. Bennett Cennamo, died on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in North Haven and raised in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Luigi and Catarina Terreciano Cennamo. Along with his brothers, they operated Cennamo Brothers Construction and he was also a former employee of Rizzitelli Construction. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he proudly served in the Company A 165th Engineer Combat Battalion. He enjoyed playing the saxophone and clarinet and was also a published author. Phillip was a loving and devoted husband who was looking forward to his 70th wedding anniversary in October.

In addition to his devoted and loving wife of 69 years, Rose, survivors include a sister-in-law, Carmen Cennamo of Trumbull and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by brothers and sisters, Mary DeChello, Jack Cennamo, Patsy Cennamo, Joseph Cennamo, Rose Sessa, Eleanor Siciliano, Sabatini Cennamo and Louis Cennamo. 

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
