Obituary of Rita Marie Gnandt

Rita Marie Gagne Gnandt of Trumbull, CT entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 3, 2012 in Bridgeport, CT at St. Vincents Hospital. Rita was born to beloved parents Alfred and Jennie Gagne on February 28, 1938 also in Bridgeport, CT. She is survived by her children Gina Manoni and her husband Douglas, Lisa Gnandt, and Gregory Gnandt; her sisters Caroline Sprigges of GA, Shirley Ciardullo of AZ; Leonard Sabia, the husband of her late sister; and her step-mother Ailene Gagne of MA. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William Gnandt, Jr., their oldest son William Billy Gnandt III, and her sister Jean Sabia. She has six loving grandchildren, John Manoni, Nicholas Manoni, Justin Manoni, Marisa Gnandt, Neil Gnandt-Ralston, Kyle Gnandt and several adoring nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her generous and warm-hearted close friend, Joseph Vaccarella. Rita grew up in Fairfield, CT and was a creative and talented soul with numerous interests. She had a passion for painting and interior design, and was a gardening enthusiast. Rita also founded Windsong Antiques & Gifts of Monroe, CT a favorite shop for many loyal customers. Funeral Information Friends are invited to call on her family at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd., Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
